I was hanging out with Colvin tonight and he wanted to do some Sudoku puzzles with his mom. Well, the ones she was doing were pretty tough so dad was searching around on the Internet and found some just for kids! Now this is what I call livin'! First Lutheran Church had their annual Trunk-or-treat on Wednesday night. I got to hang out with some really cool kids in their great costumes and pass out candy. You know, I gave out a ton of candy but not one of them had a little doggie treat for me. I tell you what...

Visiting Grandma

Hello everyone - I was in Grand Island for the day so I thought I would stop and see Grandma. She is staying at Bickford. What a mansion! (As Colvin says.) She always loves to see me. I also got to meet some of Grandma's friends. They didn't know what a labradoodle was so I had to explain it to them. They all just laughed and laughed. I think they liked saying it. I wasn't sort of attention today. I am pooped out now! Think I am going to call it a night.

Wednesday Night Visit

I took dad to the hospital tonight. We walked around investigating new places to visit within the building. Met a few new people and got to hear quite a story about surviving a terrible car accident. Was glad I was there to listen.

Trouble...

I was in a little trouble this weekend. My humans went to Sonic for drinks and mozzarella sticks and cheddar bites and didn't bother to get me anything. And it smelled so darn good! Well, they went to deliver one of the drinks to Britt and left me in the car. Ha ha ha ha - boy did they ever get a surprise when they returned. Those cheese treats - well, let's just say they were darn good! But my humans weren't too impressed with my antics. I had to sit in the back of the car after that stunt. It was so worth it - they'll get over it and I got my cheese treats!

Easter Weekend

Hello all... It's been a great weekend around our house. Mom and the boys have been here for a long Easter weekend and I am diggin' it! Talk about getting spoiled. They boiled eggs for an Easter egg hunt and, wouldn't you know it, left a few on the counter for me to snack on. Boy do those eggs make you gassy! Whew!

Dad took me to the library on Saturday. There were all sorts of kids that read to me. I love new books.

Sunday was Easter and we got to go to Grandma and Grandpa's in Grand Island. Boy do I get spoiled there! We had a huge feast for lunch. Went for a walk and the boys even went disc golfing on the way home.

Now for a week of relaxation! Take care and hope you had a great Easter.

Wow! It's been a while since I have posted. Not that I have been too busy or anything. I live a dog's life you know. More lazy than anything. Just lay around. I love to get read to. Was just at the library this last weekend. Had 5 books read to me in the hour that I was there. How fun! Also visited the hospital. We did our rounds and met people from all over the country. Tennessee was the farthest. This guy had a whole pack of dogs and cats at his house. Over 30 cats and 9 dogs. Good thing they live on a farm.

Well... it's about time for a nap. I better sign off! Have a great day.

Who would ever think a DOG likes to BLOG! I sit at the computer and tippity tap on that keyboard like a pro. Now some dogs like to fetch and some like to dig. Well, I guess I do like to fetch but I like blogging too! What else is there to do when my human is at work?

Good Sam Volunteer Luncheon

Today my human was invited to a luncheon by Good Samaritan Hospital's Volunteer program. I didn't get to go but he said it was good fun. There was live music during lunch and they even had a family of children (Spencer's) play violin and bass. It was very nice! There were other speakers too that talked about their programs.

The neatest part was the announcement of almost 60,000 hours of time volunteers put in to support the health system. What an incredible accomplishment! Kudo's to all the volunteers. My human and I were recognized for 150 hours last year. It was worth every bath, hair brushing, tooth brushing, training, and everything else that goes in to preparing for a visit. Just one smile makes it all worth while.

YMCA and Kearney Public Library

A visit to the YMCA on Friday afternoon was quite a treat. My human and I read books to all the daycare kids. They were some of my favorite books. Here they were:

Miles of Smiles by Bruce Lansky
What Pet to Get by Emma Dodd
My Many Colored Days by Dr. Seuss
On Noah's Ark by Jan Brett

I like reading so much, on Saturday, I went to the library and there were lots of kids there to read to me. The library has a program called "Paws to Read." The next time we get together is May 3rd! Make sure you come and visit!

After two fun filled days, I had to take a little dip in the lake. It was refreshing! A little chilly but nice to get in and swim around.

Kidz Explorer

WOW! What a weekend trip to the First Tier Events Center in Kearney. It was Kidz Explorer! Kidz Explorer is an event for kids to come and do all sorts of fun things sponsored by people and businesses in the community. I was invited to come with the pet therapy team on both Saturday and Sunday. I didn't stay too long on Saturday. Just for a petting session - lasted about a half an hour. Met quite a few kids.

Sunday was much more fun. My human brothers came along and we did the petting again but we also took time to visit the booths and hang out with everyone. We saw a magic show, went ice skating, sat in an airplane, walked a tight rope, rode a bike that lit up light bulbs and so much more. I bet I met 500 people. It was amazing! I was tired. Went home and took a very long nap.

I better get rested up for another trip this coming weekend. My friends and I are going to the public library for the "Paws to Read" program. It's a great program because I get to hang out with kids and they pet me and read to me. It truly is a dog's life! I also get to go to the YMCA daycare and visit my friends there. We usually read there too. The last time I went, I brought stamps for everyone. We had stamps of bones, paw prints, dog tags and a couple of other graphics. It was fun. I'm surprised I didn't get any calls from parents wondering why their child was all marked up!

Well, it's getting late. I better get to bed. Take care!

Grooming

Today was GREAT! I went to Cottonwood Vet Clinic to get groomed. Carin is just awesome there. She spoils me rotten. We went for the summer cut today. Slim and trim! We also got a new tool to curb some of my shedding now that it's getting to be spring weather. It's called the "Furminator" and it's a pretty neat little brush. Hopefully it will help keep the house a little less furry!

I also got to run around the clinic and play today. They had some meeting so there wasn't anyone around for us to get in trouble with. Carin brought her new puppy Corkey. She is an adorable little Yorkiepoo. She is a miniature version of ME! It was like looking in a mirror only I was 40 pounds smaller! It was great. We romped around for quite a while. I can't wait to go back and play.

Once we got done at the groomers, dad took me to his work. I helped him with a workshop he was doing on Google tools. Had to sniff everyone and check everything out in the computer lab. I like hanging out at ESU 10. They are all so nice to me.

Well, I am off to take a little rest now. The sun is beating through the storm door and I think I'll just lay here and take it easy. I have Kidz Exporer this weekend. Hope you can come! If so, I'll see you there. We'll make sure to take some pictures to put up on the blog.

Good Samaritan

Hello everyone!

I have been going to the hospital quite a bit lately. It's been my Saturday afternoon activity for the past couple of weeks. I have really enjoyed it. We have been going to the third floor for starters. I love going to see the kids in pediatrics.

The other part I love is the nurses. I think they like me more than the patients! They are always so welcoming and fun.

Taking a Stroll

I was just taking a stroll around the lake and thought I'd stop to get my picture taken. It was a great day for a little walk. Sun shining - no wind! And that's unusual around these parts.

Sunday Fun

Dad had to take a break from doing taxes today and so Colvin and I got quite the treat. We went to the BMX track in Kearney and Colvin rode the track for the first time on his new bike that Gordon let him have. Dad had to cut the seat post down but it looked like Cole had the hang of it. He was going up and down the ramps and around the track like a champion. I chased him this way and that. Ran after him and then back to dad. It was quite fun!

Then dad took us over to the dog park. Wow, was that fun! I met several new friends. There were about seven or so other dogs there. A big German Shepard, another labradoodle (must have had more lab than poodle), and several other smaller doggies. We chased and sniffed and sniffed and chased. I was POOPED! I will be glad to have a day of rest tomorrow!

March Madness!

So much has been happening. You would think a dog just sits around and does nothing. Well, most of the time that's how my life plays out. But last week I had a hair cut at the Barking Barbershop. They treat me so well. I just love going. And my hair is so short.

I also had to see Dr. Adrian at West Villa for my yearly shot updates. Jess and Dr. Adrian alway give me lots of treats though. I do like going there. And I get to see Red, their cat, too.

Today I went to the hospital. I have not been up there for a while. I usually go to the Y or other Good Sam AAA (Animal Assisted Activities) events. We haven't done these for a while though. We saw lots of people at Good Sam since it was a Saturday. I think I'd like to start going more often.

Well, I am pretty worn out so I am just going to lay by my family's feet while they watch a movie. Have a good night!

My Birthday!

It's my birthday! I am officially 2 years old today. I love having my birthday on New Years day. That way I can stay up all night and wait until the clock strikes... well, my BIRTHDAY!

Christmas Visits

I had several visits over the holiday break. I had an opportunity to visit Richard Young Hospital in a Christmas Walk with the other Good Sam therapy dog teams. I also visited Prairie View Gardens rest home with the teams.

I also had my monthly visit with the YMCA Daycare. They are so fun and I even received several presents from them! The Green Room spoiled me with dog bone treats. Just delicious! The Red Room went overboard and made me a shirt that all the children signed and put their hand prints on. They also got me two handkerchiefs in camo green and camo pink. How chick! And lastly, they got me a great fitting red Christmas shirt. I just loved them all and have worn them several places already. Thank you, thank you!

I had the chance to visit ESU 10 and hang out for their Christmas party. They are a fun group of people who love to pet and play with me. My human works there and so we go pretty often to just hang out or visit someone who needs a petting. :)

My last Christmas visit was to a nursing home in Hawarden, Iowa. That was quite a drive but well worth it. My human has relatives in the area so we had the chance to visit quite a few places in the area.
